Lauryn Hill – Too Good To Be True
You’re just too good to be true
can’t take my eyes off of you
you’d be like heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
at long last love has arrived
and I thank God I’m alive
you’re just too good to be true
can’t take my eyes off of youPardonthe way that I stare
there’s nothing else to compare
the sight of you leaves me weak
there are no words left to speak
but if you feel like I feel
please let me know that it’s real
you’re just too good to be true
can’t take my eyes off of youchorus:
I need you baby and if it’s quite alright
I need you baby to warm the lonely nights
I love you baby, trust in me when I say:ok (its okaay)
Oh pretty baby, don’t let me down, I pray
oh pretty baby, now that I’ve found you, stay
and let me love you,o baby, let me love you, o babyYou’re just too good to be true
can’t take my eyes off of you
you’d be like heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
at long last love has arrived
and I thank God I’m alive
you’re just too good to be true
can’t take my eyes off of youchorus:
I need you baby and if it’s quite alright
I need you baby to warm the lonely nights
I love you baby, trust in me when I say its ok
Oh pretty baby, don’t let me down, I pray
oh pretty baby, now that I’ve found you, stay
and let me love you, o baby, let me love you, o babyyI need you baby and if it’s quite alright
I love you baby, you warm the lonely nights
I need you baby, trust in me when I say its ok
Oh, ohpretty baby, don’t let me down, I pray
oh pretty baby, now that I’ve found you, stay
and let me love you… (fades away)
This song is a very powerful and romantic song, It originally tells us how love can bring everything into the finest look. It tells us about a hope of loving and being loved. Nothing wrong with it, when we’re in love to someone, she/he will look so perfect in our eyes. But somehow, this powerful word “Too good to be true” has another meaning in my miserable life.
I have been hearing this word for quite so many times, to me, this is not a complement nor an expression of hope to love and to be loved. This is a painful magical word to refuse the love I would share. Once someone told me this, it always means that she said “YOU ARE PRETENDING IN FRONT of ME”. In fact, I always try to be as good as I really am. Why don’t they believe? What’s wrong with being good? or it is wrong to give more attention and affection to the one I love by being good and being honest. Why they always deny it? or was I just too untrusted man?
I wonder, don’t people always try to find someone who is good for them? but, once I become a good one, they say “You’re just too good to be true”. Sometimes, there’s something crossed my mind. I wonder, “Should I be a jerk to find the love”. Aaarrrgh… this “LOVE” things always drive me crazy. Love is indeed not my middle name.
